Connecting with the community is something that I take for granted some days but am very passionate about doing as part of my professional work.  This February I along with the campus hosted a screening of the documentary featured above, Tell Them We Are Rising which details the history and legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the United States.  It was well attended given that it was rather spur of the moment but illustrated to me that we can better serve the community by being more proactive about engaging with them.  And it doesn't hurt to treat them to a special screening of Black Panther afterwards.  #WakandaForever
