Hi Folks, The Professor has been out

Y'all it's been a hot steamy bit of a year right.  And I don't mean this year but since I last wrote.  Between Roe, Desantis, another alleged 45 run, random January 6th convictions--including those for seditious conspiracy, hospitals being overwhelmed from not just COVID but RSV and some bug that is yet to be identified but is still a problem.  But in the middle of all of that my colleagues and I wrote a whole book.  Like a really in bookstores, costs more than I thought it would hardback book.  We submitted the last draft in June and by October it was done done.  I haven't been soliciting feedback but the things have tumbled into my lap have been tears and support and some sadness that we had to experience the same things are mothers and grandmothers were subjected to before us.  The cover and discount information is below.  Actually the discount information isn't below but if you want to order it here's the discount code: LXFANDF30 and you can ordered it at rowman.com/lexington.  

We have done almost no promotion because we've been swamped which supports the book title but we are getting on that now.  We have an Instagram page now.  The link to that is @Blackwomencantsaveyou so please follow us there.  That was one of the titles we were floating around before we settled on the more professional sounding option.  We came together exhausted during the pandemic and produced tiny parts of our souls for you.  Give it a read if you are interested in understanding America from the perspective of a group of Black professional women.

I'm working on our international trip because I need to leave the country.  And I want to do this as I make decisions on what opportunities I'd like to engage in now.  Things keep being presented to me and I would like to figure out if that means it's time to do something new, somewhere new or if it just means the world is hectic and folks aren't waiting for applications to meet their staffing needs.  You'll also see the page has been reformatted a bit.  That was intentional.  The old page was lagging quite a bit and I think that was partially to how I had it coded by my previous designer.  For now we're going to streamline it and see how I like it.  

For now, I'm going to go finish this seminar I'm sitting in for fun and have dinner and then eat ice cream.
